Services

Our Contact Centre provides the first port of call for people concerned with any matter affecting the well being of older people in Pembrokeshire.
Your first contact with us accesses a core service comprising:

Information - relevant, accessible, up to date and wide ranging.

Low level advocacy and representation - enabling older people to help themselves and maintain control.

Active Ageing Information and Opportunities - keeping active, valued and involved.

Home Safety Check - minimising the risk of falls and ensuring general safety maximised.

Welfare Benefits Check - maximising income through benefit entitlement and take up.

If further support is required, the following can then be offered:

Telephone Care Call Service

Regular contact through telephone calls to maintain contact, build trust and confidence, identify needs and provide proactive support at the earliest possible stage.

Home Visits

Support is considered by the type of help needed, often approaching the need laterally and looking for innovative solut ions together with it’s appropriateness for a volunteer or paid worker to carry out and whether it is required on a one off, short term or ongoing basis. Our priorities include support on discharge from hospital, vulnerable older people living alone and informal unpaid carers.
The volunteer or worker is then ‘matched’ to the customer, taking into account interests and personality as well as the usual skills, experience and locality.

Please note - We do not provide personal care or help with medication but for anything else please give us a ring and we’ll try our best to help.

Not all support can be provided by volunteers so we have developed the following chargeable services in response to what older people are telling us they need.

These services are:

Home Support Service

Practical and preventative help around the home. Support provided includes cleaning and domestic work, sitting/befriending, sorting paperwork, escorted shopping, transport to
appointments or integration into community activities.

Nail Cutting Service

Basic nail cutting and foot care to aid mobility and falls prevention.

Bathlift loan and purchase scheme

The loan or purchase of bathlifts with ongoing annual charge to cover maintenance / regular servicing.

Mobility Aids purchase scheme
The purchase of small aids and equipment, at the most competitive prices, and which do not require an occupational therapy assessment.

If what you need does not appear to fit any of the above please give us a ring anyway as we endeavour to help all callers either ourselves or by pointing you in the right direction through our Information Service.

We look forward to hearing from you......

We operate through our Contact Centre which is open from 9.00 to 4.00 (Monday - Thursday). You can phone, drop in or email us:
