About Age Concern Pembrokeshire
Age Concern Pembrokeshire is a local independent charity supporting older people in Pembrokeshire to regain and remain independent.
We do this through the deployment of paid staff and volunteers who work in a flexible and responsive way to ensure that support is person centred and targeting resources in the most effective manner to achieve outcomes that older people want.
We are a small organisation in that we only employ 6 members of staff but we have over 100 active volunteers across Pembrokeshire and 20 sessional Home Support Workers.
We have over 3000 older people on our database and are supporting at least 500 at any time.
We :
- have over 200 older people receiving regular Telephone Care Calls
- have nearly 100 older people receiveing Home Support
- have 50 customers with our Nail Cutting Service
- have over 70 bathlifts on loan
- have over 10000 hours given freely by volunteers each year
- provide over 300 home support hours each week
- take over 300 calls each month
- identify at least 100 new customers each quarter
- have at least 50% of our clients aged 80 years or more
- provide at least 40 home visits each week
- support over 200 carers who are, or are caring for, older people
- support over 350 older people on discharge from hospital each year
- have over 100 active volunteers, 70% of whom are aged 60 years or more
